Self Defense Class

I took a self defense class which I thought was useless because it was hard to do the moves without doing them thoroughly because you can't hurt your partner. I wanted to actually try them out.

Just watched the latest in the series of "Fight Quest" on the Discovery Channel while up feeding the baby last night. They had the Israelie Krav Maga martial arts on last night. HOLY CRAP! that stuff was as real as a bar fight and crazy brutal!

yes, Krav Maga is a one of the greatest and of course somewhat easiest self defense technique.

Been ages since this show was on.. sadly it lasted one season before they sent it packing, likely to make room for other junk programming.

How does one become a student of Krav Maga though without being in Israel? I wasn't even aware that they had schools of such or anything of the likes for the public.

From what little I have seen of the stuff it looked pretty impressive, then again so does a lot of that stuff. Pretty obvious that various peoples all make their own ethnic fighting forms. I wouldn't easily dismiss them at their fighting techniques off-hand though.
